School Garden

The Enaikishomi School garden is an oasis of green in an arid environment.  It serves two important purposes:

(1) A source of  fresh vegetables to supplement the school meal and also delicious passion fruit much loved by the children
(2) It serves to teach the children about gardening and the enormous benefits of permaculture.   It is an example of best practice agriculture which we hope may inspire local farmers and smallholders.

The School is very fortunate in having an excellent gardener Dan (nick named Uncle Fruits by the children) who is passionate about permaculture and has almost single handedly transformed two acres of barren land into a virtual Garden of Eden.

There is more detailed information on the garden in the reports attached.
